Education

Education has always been huge part of my day-to-day experience. After graduating cum laude from Ohio State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience, I began working in research where I focus on cognitive development in children. As a clinical researcher and admitted nerd, I have a strong passion for knowledge and learning. Tutoring gives me an opportunity to share this passion with others. My goal when working with students is not to simply complete homework and prepare for tests but to provide students with the tools and techniques that will allow them to succeed on their own.

Experience

Through my research and tutoring jobs, I have worked with a wide variety of students, ranging from high-achieving high school students in Advanced Placement courses to elementary school children with learning disabilities. I have experience in a broad range of subjects, including: grade school science and math, trigonometry, geometry, biology, anatomy, Latin, English literature, writing and composition, psychology, and neuroscience. I have completed advanced coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Psychology, and Neuroscience. I also have experience with Advanced Placement testing in Biology. I have worked in a number of research settings, including pediatric neurology and biomedical engineering. I firmly believe that, given the right approach, science can be as exciting and fun as it is useful. I have completed advanced coursework in English composition, literature, and language. I also have experience with Advanced Placement English Language and English Literature tests.

Hobbies

In my spare time, I love learning new things, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and painting. I also love animals and have spent lots of time volunteering at local animal shelters. I have a three-year-old cat of my own and hope to adopt a dog someday. I will soon be pursuing a Masters in Occupational Therapy and have a strong interest in working with children of all levels of ability.
